DEADLINE OCTOBER 27, 2011 - $3000 in Awards
DEADLINE EXTENDED TO OCTOBER 27th in consideration of photographers who could not submit due to the effects of Hurricane Irene and subsequent power outages and flooding. The exhibition juror, Debra Klomp Ching will award $3000 in cash prizes, a group show in a Manhattan gallery, an online exhibition and the cover image of IMPRINTS Magazine Winter issue. CATEGORIES: Winners will be selected in four categories:
People Places Nature Composites. EXHIBITION AND AWARDS: Selected artists and their work will be seen by an international audience of collectors, curators and others who appreciate fine art photography in a New York City group show, an online exhibition and in IMPRINTS Magazine. Awarded images and Jurors’ Selections will be included in a one month group show at a New York City gallery in May or June 2012. Awarded images, Jurors’ Selections and Honorable Mentions will also be included in PWP’s online gallery for six months from December 1, 2011 – May 31, 2012.

Presented by Baton Rouge Gallery center for contemporary art (BRGCCA), Surreal Salon IV is aimed at engaging audiences in a multi-sensory art experience and shedding light on the growing popularity, and exceptional quality of the pop-surrealist/lowbrow/contemporary surrealist movement. This exciting and irreverent movement has come to the forefront of American contemporary art in recent years and Surreal Salon IV will celebrate all the reasons why. This exhibition will be held from January 3 – 26, 2012 at BRGCCA. All artists over the age of 18 living within the United States, its Commonwealths and Territories are eligible. A themed arts competition seeking innovative interpretations for the meaning of ecology. There are six categories including; photography, fine art, functional art (repurposed materials in art & design) poetry, short video’s, and songwriting. Each category has a $1,000 cash prize, for the first place winner. We have an impressive panel of jurors in each field, not the least of which is Lloyd Herman the founding director of the Renwick Gallery. Ten finalist from each category will be announced early in 2012 on the Eco Arts Awards website. The winners will be announced no later than April 20th 2012.

DIGITAL ARTS: CALIFORNIA, a division of Art and Design Initiative, invites digital artists and photographers to submit images they consider, simply, their best! We expect to see every imaginable type of image…from painterly to wildly abstract, from classically composed to innovatively styled, from richly colored to starkly monotone. Any image that uses a digital process in its creation or presentation is eligible. Works chosen as finalists will be showcased in solo online galleries that show the work of only one artist or photographer. Solo galleries will remain online for 7 months. Artists and photographers may choose to offer their work for sale online or to use their gallery purely as a showcase for their work. A physical show will be held in a gallery in Los Angeles, San Diego, or another California creative center. We do not take any fee or commission for works sold online. We do outreach to art curators, collectors, and patrons, inviting them to view our shows. We also do individual publicity for our shows’ top award winners. Finalists are chosen by Virginia Christensen (a long-time editor of art and photography books and founder of Design Press International) and Glen Christensen (art director of Elektra Asylum Records, 20th Century Fox Records, and Buddha Records, and founder of Glen Christensen Design in Hollywood). A guest juror will select the top award-winners.
