JUROR: Ken Hamel — photographer, curator and founder|director of denverarts.org. CONCEPT: “Is This How I Look?” encourages photographic artists to define themselves or others through figurative photography. The camera can provide insight, or intimidate, preserve memories or inspire new directions, but it’s oh so wonderful when a figurative photograph captures and preserves that extra little fleeting “something” that says so much about a person, their environment, their personality, their circumstances, etc. A photograph that inspires the subject to ask “is this how i look?” So, observe the subtle details, and use your camera to explore the question. Define yourself and/or others and share what your camera reveals. Show us how you look at yourself and the people around you.
