DEADLINE SEPTEMBER 30, 2010 – $600 in Awards

Contests, Juried Art Shows – Photography Photo Gallery

In this age of digital photography, more and more photographers are seeking an alternative. This return to labor and craftsmanship resists the quick-fix of inkjet technology and values something much more satisfying and elusive. The best examples are, first and foremost, great photographs. Yet, these are photographs with a richer tale to tell – one that shows the mark of the maker, and the effects of light on a hand-coated surface. These are not just images, they are objects.A call for all things alternative with occasional forays into future processes. This call focuses less on the camera, albeit, Pinhole, Holga, traditional plate, film or digital, but exclusively on the final (non-silver) process. Poloroid Transfers, Gum Dichromate, Platinum, Palladium, Tintype, Albumen, Cyanotype, VanDyke, Bromoil Printing, Wet Plate Collodion, Carbon Printing, Bromoil Printing, Calotype Paper Negative, Salted Paper Printing, Photoshop Manipulation and Inkjet Prints.
