$10,000 Grand Prize, $5,000 2nd Place Prize- Over $26,500 in total prizes! Each month of the competition, a professional artist juror selects and critiques 12 finalist paintings from the monthly entries. These finalists are announced by the 15th of the following month. At the end of the 12 months of the competition, a final artist judge will choose the 12 award winners from these 144 monthly finalists. Competition began August 1, 2009 and is currently in progress. The last day to enter for a particular month is the last day of that month.

How is “home” being impacted by the current economic crisis in America? The Visual Arts Gallery at Emory University invites submissions to a juried photography exhibition on these and related issues: images (and combinations of images and words) that investigate, comment on and test various dimensions of “home”—in its familiarity and unfamiliarity, its pleasures and discomforts, its communal and personal aspects.

Art(Raw)09 is an international juried competition open to all, aimed at stripping art down to its fundamental elements; composition, technique, movement, line, shape, or use of color and light in relation to the medium applied. Artists are encouraged to bring out raw expression in the submitted work, evoking raw emotion in the viewer. The submitted piece(s) may fall anywhere along the spectrum of artistic expression; chaotic/still,bright and saturated/monochromatic, significant/minimal, expressive in tone/subtle, etc.The top 30 entries will be included in an online exhibition March 1, 2010 – April 30, 2010 and marketed to galleries for possible representation. Calls for Submissions - Sculpture Other
Columbia Residential and The Bayou District Foundation will commission and install one exterior public art sculpture in the new Bayou District neighborhood, just 4 blocks east of City Park in New Orleans. Proposals will be accepted provided that the artwork is durable, meets safety regulations, can remain installed with minimal maintenance for at least 15 years, and achieves the concept goals set forth in the mission summary. Project budget is $35,000.
