Artists throughout the Atlanta Area will have the opportunity to compete for the $3,000 grand prize of the Arte de América Hispana competition. The winning poster will be reproduced as an official commemorative poster of the Atlanta Arte de América Hispana program, and will also be reproduced on the front cover of the Directorio en Español yellow pages in the Atlanta area. The name of the artist as well as the name of the painting will appear under the illustration in the cover. The design may also be adapted for other promotional items such as billboards, t-shirts, and other programs. The artwork theme should be the artist’s interpretation or rendition of Hispanic life and heritage in the Atlanta area. The art must be in full color and original artwork, not computer generated and must not be smaller than 24 x 32 inches in a vertical format only. Only one work may be submitted per artist. The contest runs from June 1st, 2006 through November 9, 2006. Artwork must be delivered by November 9, 2006 to the office of Casablanca Directorio en Español, 2556 Apple Valley Rd. Suite 175, Atlanta, GA 30319. Judging will be November 15, 2006. A panel of judges and Hispanic Yellow Pages Network LLC will select the winning entry. Winners and finalists will be recognized at the awards ceremony to be held on February, 2007 (location to be announced at a later date).
