25th Anniversary – Women In Photography International

Women In Photography International (womeninphotography.org) Celebrates it’s 25th Anniversary with a juried black & white print collection Call for Entries. Founded in 1981, by a group of professional photographers living in Los Angeles, Women In Photography International (WIPI) has progressed over the years to become one of the most recognized organizations for women photographers worldwide. Entries can be any type of black & white image, created in your personal darkroom, professional lab or through a digital printer that is black & white based, single weight, glossy, matte, including hand painted and toned images, Polaroid, black & white C-41, silver gelatin prints, platinum prints and alternative prints. We encourage submission of “archival” types of materials, numbered limited editions, artists proofs, and series of images, color transferred to b/w, digital manipulation, with varying styles and techniques, that incorporate traditional and non traditional printing processes The photographic entries will be juried by a panel of professionals including gallery owners, art directors, editors and curators. ALL submission will be held in the archive. Prizes include leather bound limited edition book of winning images. The selection of one hundred (100) images will also be showcased on www.WomenInPhotography.org and will remain as part of our 25th Anniversary online archive as well as included in the Women In Photography International Archive. Fees: Members $25 per photo,$25 per photo – Feb 15 – April 15th (midnight PST)$35 per photo – April 16th, 12:01 AM PST – midnight PST May 1st, (MINIMUM 2 images, MAXIMUM 10 images. Listed Organization Nembers $40 per image thru May 1st (MINIMUM 2 images, MAXIMUM 10 images) Non Members $50.00 per image – Feb. 15 – May 1st (MINIMUM 2 images, MAXIMUM 10 images). 2006 OUTSTANDING STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT IN CONTEMPORARY SCULPTURE AWARDS

2006 Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Awards. Each year the International Sculpture Center presents an award competition to its member colleges and universities as a means of supporting, encouraging, and recognizing the work of young sculptors and their supporting school’s faculty and art program. Universities must be current members. Professors are invited to nominate up to 3 of their outstanding undergraduate or graduate students to submit digital images to be juried by a panel of art professionals. The award winners participate in a 3-month exhibition at Grounds for Sculpture. Their work is included in the accompanying exhibition catalogue, and is also featured in Sculpture magazine. The winners also receive a one-year membership in ISC and are eligible to apply for a sponsored international residency. University Membership costs $170 for national universities and $190 for international universities and includes a number of benefits including the eligibility to nominate 3 students for the Outstanding Student Sculpture Award. 23rd ANNUAL ART COMPETITION FROM THE ARTISTS’ MAGAZINE

ELIGIBILITY The competition is open to artists anywhere in the world. Only original artwork, conceived and created by the entrant, will be considered. Work done in photography, including any use of photographs or photocopies other than as minor elements of a collage, will not be considered. Digital or computer-generated artwork will not be considered. Sculpture will not be considered. Employees of F+W Publications, Inc., and their immediate families, are not eligible. HOW TO ENTER. All entries must be 35mm slides accompanied by an Official Entry Form or facsimile. Odd-sized glass or metal slide frames will not be accepted. You may enter work in any and all categories; there is no limit to the number of slides you may enter. You may mail all your entries in one large envelope as long as slides for each category are grouped together in smaller envelopes inside. Incomplete entry forms-such as those without telephone numbers-will be disqualified. A credit card number and signature or a check or money order for the required jury fee of $12 per slide (in U.S. funds, drawn on a U.S. bank) must accompany your entry. Student entries are $10 per slide. You may send one check to cover all entries in a package. Slides will not be returned (so have a duplicate made for your own files). The GATES Project is a unique project to create art works from donated objects based on a theme of personal challenges. Donate your existing work OR create new ART FROM OBJECTS donated to us under the theme of ‘Personal Challenges’. Open to all professional 18+ artists in any medium including 2D, sculpture, mixed media, photography, digital, found objects, woodworking, fashion, jewelry and fabric work. The Center for Fine Art Photography promotes the art of photography and the efforts of creative artists through its exhibitions and publications. It invites U.S. and International photographers to submit their work, accepting all forms of photography, both traditional and digital and those working in the avant garde. Positive / Negative – this theme focuses on issues of opposites, such as: masculine/feminine, pessimism/optimism, inside/outside, open/closed, reality/imagination. $1,000 in awards. Feature Artist presentation in Artists’ ShowCase, an eight-page insert in the June issue of CameraArts magazine. Director’s Selection: Special Recognition in the the published and online editions of Artists’ ShowCase. 8 additional artists will also be included in the print edition of Artists’ ShowCase. All exhibitors are included in the Center’s Online Edition of Artists’ ShowCase. 20 works will be selected for the post-exhibition traveling show to the Denver International Airport’s main gallery. Inclusion in the Center’s 2006 Exhibition Collection CD which is distributed to selected galleries, collectors, design houses and corporations world wide. Artists whose works are featured in Artists’ ShowCase will receive additional copies for their portfolio. Juror: Ellen Fleurov – president of Crossroads Traveling Exhibitions. Ellen Flerov’s Atlanta-based company organizes tours of photography exhibitions to museums and cultural venues internationally. Projekt30′s MAY JURIED EXHIBITION

Projekt30 is an artist run arts organization dedicated to promoting emerging artists. Projekt30 is taking submissions for its 22st publicly juried exhibition, scheduled to open May 1st, 2006. We are an artist-run arts organization dedicated to promoting emerging artists. The exhibition will include thirty artists; invitations will be sent to over 50,000 galleries, collectors, and fellow artists.
