Projekt30′s APRIL JURIED EXHIBITION

Projekt30 is an artist run arts organization dedicated to promoting emerging artists. Projekt30 is taking submissions for its 21st publicly juried exhibition, scheduled to open April 1st, 2006. We are an artist-run arts organization dedicated to promoting emerging artists. The exhibition will include thirty artists; invitations will be sent to over 50,000 galleries, collectors, and fellow artists. All artwork submitted will be presented online prior to the exhibition so visitors of Projekt30 may help select which artists will be included in the April Exhibition. Visitors have the option of contacting any participating artist with feedback or opportunities. Unlike other juried exhibitions, all participants receive some exposure.

RayMar’s First Annual Fine Art Competition

RayMar’s First Annual Fine Art Competition, Grand Prize $10,000. Open to all painters. Any subject, any size, but work must be on a RayMar cotton or linen plein aire panel. Each month, 12 finalists are selected and posted on our website with a critique by a famous artist juror. The twelve paintings and critiques selected each month will be displayed on the Raymar Art competition website. They will be posted on the 15th of the following month. A winning artist will be required to send in the original paintings for authentication. The artist is responsible for insuring the painting. A professional photographer will photograph the winning paintings for inclusion in a 2007 calendar. Each of the winning paintings with its critique will be a month in the calendar. 2nd prize – one week in Chateau de Arts, France. 3rd Prize – $2,000. 4th/12th prize – $1000. Digital submissions only. Agora Gallery of New York City is pleased to announce its 21st International Juried Competition. The competition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older working in all media with the exception of video art, film and interactive art. Manon Slome is an independent curator and art consultant in New York. During her six year tenure at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, she curated Africa: The Art of a Continent and China: 5000 Years. She also curated The Art of the Motorcycle at the Guggenheim’s space in Bilbao, Spain. Formerly the Helena Rubinstein Curatorial Fellow at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Manon has produced numerous collections and independent gallery shows in New York, London and Hong Kong. Prizes:Exhibition- 15-20 Artists will participate in a collective exhibition at Agora Gallery 530 West 25th Street, Chelsea, New York City, Exhibition – July 21st to August 10th, 2006, Artist Reception – July 27th, 2006, $1000 in prizes – will be awarded to three artists ($500, $300 & $200.), Internet Promotion – will be awarded to six (6) artists to be placed on www.Art-Mine.com for a period of one year. Review by an art critic will be awarded to one (1) artist one-page review with color images in ArtisSpectrum magazine.Internet – images of the exhibited artwork will be placed on the Agora Gallery web site, www.Agora-Gallery.com, for one year. Justice for All? International Juried Exhibition

Artists Reflect on the Death Penalty, This is an international, all-media, juried exhibition on view May 6 through May 22, 2006 at Gallery Lombardi in Austin, Texas and online for at least one year at www.deathpenaltyartshow.org. JURORS are Annette Carlozzi, Curator of American and Contemporary Art at the Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art at The University of Texas at Austin; Lora Reynolds, owner of Lora Reynolds Gallery in Austin. Lora Reynolds Gallery presents contemporary art in all mediums by established and emerging, national and international artists; and Malaquias Montoya, an artist and professor of art at the University of California, Davis. Purpose of the juried art show is to foster the creation of new artwork on the death penalty, to celebrate artwork that may already have been created and to encourage and enhance civic engagement and dialogue about the death penalty. Two-dimensional work must be suitable for installation, ready to hang and must not exceed 84” in any dimension. Sculpture should not exceed 84” including base, and must be light enough for two people to handle. Videos/DVDs must be no longer than 15 minutes. Leicester Diwali – Expressions of Interest

Expressions of Interest are sought from individual artists or artist teams to deliver a high profile, temporary art commission as part of Leicester Diwali celebrations, November 2006. Leicester, in the heart of the East Midlands region, hosts the largest Diwali celebration in the UK. The commission is in conjunction with a major TV broadcaster and will involve live broadcast of the Diwali celebrations from Leicester on Diwali Day. The intended commission must contribute an extremely special, spectacle moment to the live broadcast. It must be suitable as a centrepiece for an event with a live audience of 50,000 plus (and potential television audience of millions). It is also possible that a work-in-progress documentary will be made to record the development of the commission. Interested artists should submit:
· A covering letter confirming availability to meet the project timescale and the nature and financial value of projects undertaken over the last three years
· A full curriculum vitae
· Up to ten slides or images (or one short video/DVD) to illustrate previous work
· A statement to indicate why you are interested in delivering this project
· An outline proposal (up to 1,000 words)
