SLOWART PRODUCTION’S 15TH ANNUAL COMPETITION

EMERGING ARTISTS 2006. Fifteenth annual competition for group exhibition, cash awards and Internet promotion is running. Is open to all media, $1000 cash awards. Projekt30’s – JANUARY JURIED EXHIBITION

Projekt30 is an artist run arts organization dedicated to promoting emerging artists. We are taking submissions for our January Juried Exhibition. Thirty artists are selected, and invititations are sent to over 70,000 galleries, collectors, and artists. We have counted over 8000 messages sent to artists via our website. We are following the “publicly juried” format we pioneered December 2003. All artwork submitted will be presented online prior to the exhibition so visitors of Projekt30 may help select which artists will be included in the January Exhibition. Visitors have the option of contacting any participating artist with feedback or opportunities. Unlike other juried exhibitions, all participants receive some exposure. Peek Through! – Photography Competition

Dangenart Gallery invites you to participate in our ‘Peek Through!’ Exhibition January 16 – March 12, 2006. You must be at least 18 years old to participate. One first prize winner will receive $500 cash award and $500 worth of exhibition space (approx. 4 16”x20” frames.) Eight other winners receive $500 worth of exhibition space. All winners’ works will also be showcased on Dangenart website. Open to all photographic processes, all themes and photographers, Peek Through! is a unique photography exhibition where the unusual is celebrated. From alternative process to unique perspective, from special technique to unusual subject matter, as long as the unusual characteristic is apparent on the final result, you’re qualified. The entry fee is $30 for 4 slides, prints, or jpgs, and $5 per additional. You may not submit work that has been shown in past Dangenart Exhibitions. Entry fees are non-refundable. 2006 Pacific States Biennial National Print Exhibition

The 2006 PACIFIC STATES BIENNIAL NATIONAL PRINT EXHIBITION runs February – April, 2006 at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, Campus Center Gallery. The Juror is John T. Scott. He is a sculptor/printmaker and is currently a professor of fine arts at Xavier University of Louisiana and was the recipient of a John D. and Katherine T. MacArthur Fellowship in 1992. $3000.00 is available for purchase awards. Competition is open to all artists 18 years or older presently residing in the United States and territories. Original work in all printmaking media including monoprints and monotypes are eligible (no photographs). Accepted work can not exceed 30×40″ frame dimensions. For preliminary jurying only slides will be accepted (No original work should be sent until requested). Slides of work by artists accepted for the exhibition will be retained for the slide collection of the Art Department. Entry fee:$30.00 per artist – 1-2 works. SILVER EYE CENTER FOR PHOTOGRAPHY 6TH ANNUAL FELLOWSHIP COMPETITION FOR AWARD AND EXHIBITION, Sixth Annual Fellowship Competition for Award and Exhibition. Deadline October 14, 2005. Juror: Lesley A. Martin, Executive Editor, Books, Aperture. Silver Eye Center for Photography, the oldest non-profit organization in Western Pennsylvania dedicated solely to the understanding and appreciation of photography as an art form, invites photographers to submit entries for our juried Fellowship Competition. One photographer will be selected to receive a $5000 Fellowship and have a one-person exhibition in the Main Gallery of Silver Eye. Ten photographers will be recognized with the distinction of Honorable Mention. They will receive a $100 honorarium and will be invited to exhibit one photograph each. Exhibition: November 2005 – January 2006. There is no fee. This competition is open to photographers who join Silver Eye at the $70 level or for students that join at the $35 level.
