Plein Air New Mexico is pleased to sponsor the Plein Air New Mexico Invitational, an exhibition of superior plein-air works. The exhibition will run from December 8-12, 2005 with an opening reception on Friday, December 9, 2005 from 4-7 PM. A total of 85 to 90 plein air works will be featured in this show. Twenty of the best plein air painters in the country have been invited to participate in this exhibition. Twenty to thirty artists will be selected from entries for the juried portion of the exhibition. Best of Show is $5000 with additonal awards and prizes totalling $10,000. The host for this prestigious event is Ventana Fine Art, located on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and one of the premier art galleries in the country. Open to artists working in oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache or pastel mediums, or in mixed media. Artists may submit work in more than one medium. Work must be entirely original, 80% completed on location, and done in the last two years. Work done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible. Mail entries to Plein Air New Mexico, P.O.
